wrings impossible melody
from acrid dissonance,
dipping and diving
in oft unexpected directions

abrupt turns
to thrashy decoupage
both astound
and resound with the neck

drums ooze analog humanity
amidst technical torrents
with admirable blastcraft,
well-framing these fatal odes

growls and epiglottal eviscerations
display appropriate disgust
but deliver and reflect pain,
both physical and mental

tremolo picked splinters perforate
the maelstrom with nuance and challenge,
the whorls and eddies of atmosphere engross
until you're blasted again, again

much music of this ilk
I judge on the dubious scale
of over-similarity to Ulcerate
or Luc Lemay's nowadays ways

these fragmented memories do
recall those foundational antipodeans
and that grandfatherly master,
but without over-reliance or aping
